A rendition of the American fashion Icon Edie Sedgwick wearing a classic mini A-line dress that couldn't fit any better. This dress represents the mid 1960's fashion and I love it cause it is simple and chic.
This is my all time favorite romantic movie! Everything in this movie is so beautiful. Based in the late 1800's this time period holds my first and foremost favorite form. I love the low neck, empire waist dress. I also love the fabric choices used in these garments
9.) How to lose a guy in 10 days
Who doesn't love this beautiful canary dress? I love the way this dress just clings to Kate's body. The low scoop v neck and thin shiny waist band creates a great flow from top to bottom.
8.) Great Gatsby
Oh the roaring 20's. I have a love for this time period so I had to include this movie because I think that this time period in fashion is just breathtaking. From the short bobs and amazingly intricate hats to the loose and highly embellished dresses.
7.) Sweeney Todd
Everything is so put together in this wardrobe. It is fun and yet like the movie holds a very dark and Gothic sort of beauty in the garments. I feel inspired by the color and form these garments.
6.) Marie Antoinette
Do I need to say anything? This entire movie is full of garments that are so unbelievably embellished and full. It makes me wish I was born to noble blood in the 1700's. Everything is impeccable.
5.) Golden Compass
This dress is fantastic. It has a unique shape that reminds me a little of the 1920's. I love the sheer gold, high necked long sleeve top over the sweetheart neckline of the dress. It is very elegant.
4.) Pride and Prejudice
3.) An Education
I really enjoy the late 1950's early 60's style. This is very fancy look. The entire look of this time period was based on another famous fashion icon as well as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. This movie nails the style.
2.) The Notebook
Oh The Notebook. Probably the number one, all time best romantic movie. Thank you Nicholas Sparks for your yet again wonderful tear jerker. Thank you costume designer for giving me 2 hours of amazing outfits that inspire me.
1.) Surprise Surprise.... Atonement
I am not sure much needs to be said. I had to add this because I have still not seen a movie that can beat this green dress.
But lets look beyond the cliche green dress to some more of this movies wonderful costumes.
Wonderful!!
