Things like this link below really inspires me. I find myself drawn to the blend of colors, not to mention in my first step of drawing my illustrations I always start with the eyes. I like to try to convey an attitude through the face. http://bumbumbum.me/2010/11/10/marion-bolognesi-eyes/. Check this link.
Ok now on to my Halloween costume for this year. For the past few years me and boy friend have been dying to go as Calvin and Hobbes. Well two years ago we were planning it but we just could not find the time or the money to pull together the look so we ended up going as the cheshire cat (me) and the white rabbit (bf). Well his outfit turned out awesome but mine on the other hand turned out not so good. I just ended up looking like an ugly over-sized version of blue off of Blues Clues. I can't even begin to describe how terrible it was and incredibly unflattering.
So...this year I decided to make the time for a Calvin and Hobbes costume. For Hobbes I went to the fabric store and found the only tiger print they had. Okaay, so I couldn't go traditional black and orange Hobbes so I made it my own artistic version of Hobbes. two days later I had a tiger onesy with a hood and tail :) For Calvin, we found an old ratty tee and I took some black fabric paint and drew the stripes on it. To complete the look of our costumes we bought yellow hair spray paint that well...in the end didn't work out to well but even still we were cute.
ps: His hair turned a putrid color of green :)
